Defensor invests in Crepitans AB, strengthening Swedish cutting-edge expertise in critical defence technologies
Defensor Group AB ("Defensor") has entered into an agreement to invest in Crepitans AB ("Crepitans") and will, following completion of the transaction, become the majority owner of the company.
Crepitans is a Swedish technology company founded by a research team with a background from FOI, the Swedish Defence Research Agency. The company has leading expertise in energetic materials, flow chemistry and battery systems for military applications. The team has extensive experience in developing and industrialising complex technologies, from basic research to finished systems.
Crepitans also develops systems for the safe clearance of mines and unexploded ordnance, both on land and underwater, as well as mobile production systems for explosives that enable flexible production close to the user.
The investment will enable Crepitans to scale its operations and build industrial capabilities. For Defensor, the investment forms part of its ambition to contribute to strengthening the Swedish and Nordic defence industrial base in technologies where domestic expertise, development and production are of strategic importance.

The investment is being carried out through a directed new share issue in Crepitans while Defensor will receive an option to further increase its ownership in Crepitans. In connection with the transaction, Crepitans' founding team will also become minority shareholders in Defensor. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
