Defensor strengthens Ukraine engagement with appointment of Håkan Andersson as Senior Advisor and Programme Director

Defensor today announced the appointment of Håkan Andersson as Senior Advisor and Programme Director for the company's Ukraine initiative. The appointment marks the next step in Defensor's long term commitment to strengthening Swedish and Ukrainian security and defence capabilities.

"Håkan brings a highly distinctive combination of operational military experience, deep expertise on Russia and Ukraine, and extensive knowledge of geopolitical and military strategic matters. For Defensor, this is about contributing in a long term and structured manner to a greater understanding of Ukraine's operational requirements and battlefield experience, while also strengthening our own, and the wider Swedish defence industry's, understanding of future capability requirements and developments in our security environment," said Niclas Colliander, CEO and Group President of Defensor.

Håkan Andersson has extensive experience from the Swedish Armed Forces, including service as a helicopter pilot and Defence Attaché in Russia. He has also completed staff training at the Russian General Staff Academy in Moscow. Most recently, Andersson served at the Swedish Ministry of Defence, focusing on defence and security policy developments in Sweden's regional security environment, particularly relating to Russia and Ukraine. In that capacity, he contributed to Sweden's military support efforts for Ukraine.

In his new role, Andersson will work with strategic analysis, geopolitical intelligence and the development and leadership of Defensor's Ukraine initiative, with a focus on long term efforts to strengthen Ukraine's defence capability. The initiative will also support Defensor's and the Swedish defence industry's understanding of operational developments and capability requirements emerging from Ukraine.
